2024 Beauty Insights- 10th Edition

Cosmobeauty Seoul 2024 took place from 29th to 31st May. With just over 370 exhibitors primarily from Korea, the show was similarly sized to last year’s event but felt much busier than the 2023 fair. Several big brand names that had skipped the previous editions returned this year, making the 38th edition of Korea’s longest-running beauty trade show a buzzy, exciting event.

TikTok Shop is winning over more and more users, in particular among Gen Y consumers. According to a recent study, while Gen Z are the bigger users of TikTok, Millennials are more likely to say they use TikTok Shop relative to their platform usage. This trend highlights younger consumers’ growing interest in social media shopping.

Power Retail has unveiled its inaugural Most-Loved Retailers Report, highlighting the nation’s favourite beauty retailers. Mecca has emerged as Australia’s top beauty retailer, followed closely by Adore Beauty, Chemist Warehouse, Shaver Shop, and Priceline.

The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) has completed its acquisition of the Canadian-based, multi-brand Deciem Beauty Group. This acquisition follows ELC’s initial investment in Deciem in 2017, an increased stake to majority ownership in 2021, and now the purchase of the remaining interests as of May 31, 2024, for an estimated $860 million ($1.3 billion).
