Inside CBE’s Packaging Halls: Layout, Trends, and the Global Connection

The 31st China Beauty Expo (CBE — Shanghai) will take place on May 12–14, 2027, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The packaging zone will gather 900+ qualified packaging suppliers across 10 major categories.

CBE’s Packaging Halls bring together suppliers across materials, containers, labels, printing, paper, sustainability, and digital design—organized so that buyers, brands, manufacturers, and international packaging companies can see where capability sits and how it is evolving.

The packaging zone spans seven halls—W4, W5, N3, N5, W8, W9, and W10—with three comprehensive halls (W4, W5, and N3) already fully booked. The remaining four halls define the sharper edges of the sourcing story.

W8—labels printing, plastic & glass packaging

Digital printing, smart labels, special finishes, and degradable or recycled-content solutions. This hall also sits at the intersection of QR-code traceability, tightening cosmetics labeling compliance, and electronic-label pilots—where the label layer becomes a data and compliance entry point.

W9—paper / box / bag & eco-friendly packaging

Creative paper formats, eco-conscious bags, specialty cartons, and structural innovation. Paper-for-plastic substitution, recyclability, and premium tactile finishes have moved from differentiation to baseline procurement criteria, particularly for brands facing extended producer responsibility pressures.

W10—plastic & glass packaging

Airless pumps, mono-material bottles, high-PCR plastics, minimalist luxury, and sensorial design. This hall connects advanced tooling and design capability to buyers chasing texture, tactility, and shelf presence.

N5—AI-powered packaging

A dedicated theme zone for AI-assisted design, digital rendering, smart production lines, CMF development, and digital sampling. The operational claim is concrete: AI-assisted design can compress the sampling cycle from 21 days to 48 hours—a supply-chain variable relevant to any brand shortening development timelines.

Sustainability is now a procurement gate.

China’s beauty and personal care packaging retail volume reached 21 billion units in 2025 (+3%), with the market shifting toward recycled content, mono-materials, and refillables. Regulatory pressure on overpackaging and green delivery is making recyclability and material reduction a baseline for export-oriented brands.

Smart labeling is becoming a brand-engagement and compliance tool.

QR traceability, NFC-enabled packaging, and tightening cosmetics labeling rules are converging. W8’s exhibitors sit directly at that intersection.

Digital design and sampling are compressing development cycles.

AI-assisted design, digital rendering, and CMF development are moving from experimentation to operational practice, with measurable effects on sampling speed.
